Naming the Crane
naming the crane
SHARE
The tower crane being used in the construction of the Wyong Hospital Redevelopment has been named Djibing. The Crane was named by Mannering Park Public School student Lachlan (aged 8, pictured centre with school leaders Jake and Molly), who entered our Name the Crane Competition.
On his entry form Lachlan wrote, “The crane should definitely be called ‘Djibing.’ This is the Darkinjung word for bird. This would be fitting because Wyong Hospital is on Darkinjung land.”
Lachlan’s winning entry has won him a $100 gift voucher and his school will receive $1,000 to go towards student education. The prizes were provided by the building contractor, Richard Crookes Constructions. Congratulations Lachlan and thank you to everyone who entered the competition to name our crane!
